Turnbull agrees Swindon loan switch

Southampton defender Jordan Turnbull has agreed to joined  League 1 side Swindon Town on a season-long loan.

According to the Gazette & Herald the 19-year-old centre-back has spent the last ten days on trail with the Robins, and has now has finalised a move to the County Ground for the entire 2014/15 season.

Bath-raised Jordan recently travelled away with Saints’ first team for their pre-season training camp in Belgium, but now links up with the Robins as part of his development.
Saints Technical Director Martin Hunter discussed Turnbull’s current situation:

“We treat everybody as individuals and, like we did with Jack Stephens last year, we think that going out on loan will escalate Jordan’s development.
“We’ve got a good link with Swindon – they try to play good football, and that’s one of the reasons why we let Jack go last year and Jordan this year.”

The Saints under-21 player has made 42 appearances for the Southampton youth team and now will be expected to gain vital first team experience during his spell with Swindon

The Robins will be kicking off their campaign at home against Scunthorpe United.
