Watford reject Deeney bid

The Leicester Mercury are reporting that Watford have rejected a £6.5 Million offer from Leicester City for star striker, Troy Deeney.

Sources in Watford say that when the bid was recieved by the club, it was rejected straight away, saying that Leicester would have to improve their offer pretty substantially in order to land the strikers signature.

The Premier League newcomers have already signed Brighton’s Leonardo Ulloa. The 27 year old scored 23 goals in 50 appearances for The Seagulls last season and Nigel Pearson will be hoping he will be in the same form with The Foxes at the King Power Stadium.

Deeney, 26, sank the hearts of Leicester City fans everywhere when he scored a 97th minute winner against The Foxes in the 2012/13 campaign, to knock them out of the Play Off Semi-Final as well as denying them a place in the Final at Wembley Stadium.

In his time at Watford, Deeney has been prolific in his scoring. He has scored 57 goals in 163 appearances making it unsurprising that clubs such as Leicester are hovering for the 26 year old.
