League 1 Weekend Preview

MK Dons v Wolves

The first game is between play-off chasing MK Dons and league leaders Wolves who come head-to-head at Stadium MK.

Wolves v MK Dons 2

The Dons come into this match off the back of a 1-0 home defeat to mid-table Gillingham. Karl Robinson’s side still harbour hopes of finishing in the play-off places, but, after three wins and three defeats in their last 6 games, will need to find a cutting edge if they are going to do so. They will also need to tighten up at the back if they are going to reach their play-off goal, the Dons haven’t kept a clean sheet in over a month, and in Wolves they face a side who have recently been scoring for fun.

Kenny Jacket’s side have lived up to the billing of title favourites and, with only 8 games left for them, they sit top of the table 4 points clear of Brentford, albeit having played a game more. Having scored 3 or more goals 4 times this month and only one defeat in 13 games, they come into this game as clear favourites. January signing Nouha Dicko, from Wigan, has really boosted Wolves’ title contentions and has scored 8 goals since joining. Wolves’ defence has also been solid, keeping nine clean sheets since the turn of the year, and have the best defensive record in the Football League.

In Saturday’s game I believe that if MK Dons can keep Wolves’ front two of Sako and Dicko quiet and stop Wolves scoring in the first 25 minutes then they have a chance. However, if Wolves grab an early goal it could be a very long afternoon for the Dons.

Previous Result: Wolves 0-2 MK Dons

Score Prediction: MK Dons 0-3 Wolves
