Sheffield United 2-0 Peterborough United

Two second half goals from Ben Davies and late substitute Chris Porter sealed Sheffield United’s eighth consecutive win in all competitions. After last night’s victory, the Blades move up to 10th in the table whereas Peterborough, who have only won four of their last ten, stay in 6th.

With the first half looking pretty even in terms of chances, it looked as if the game was just going to fade out with nothing to show. However, Derby loanee Ben Davies, decided to take it upon himself to change that. After a free kick was conceded 25 yards from goal, Davies stepped up and struck the ball so sweetly into the top corner of Olejnik’s goal.

Clough’s men were on the front foot, and from there on in, they never looked like conceding from any Peterborough pressure that was applied on them. But just to make doubly sure, substitute Chris Porter, who’s made quite a name for himself lately, broke one on one after in form Conor Coady showed strength and determination to play the ball in the first place through to him, finishing smartly past Olejnik.

The points were in the bag, and with it, the Blades’ eighth consecutive win in all competitions.
