Warnock Rules Out Owls Job

Neil Warnock and Milan Mandaric have both this morning officially ruled out the ex-Blades boss taking over at Hillsborough.

Mandaric spoke with BBC Radio Sheffield this morning, telling the station that he “didn’t realise just how much the fans were against the idea”.

Ex-QPR manager, Warnock told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on TalkSport that he and the Owls chairman had met on Thursday night and decided that it was not wise for Neil Warnock to take the job.  Warnock, 65, spent 7 years at bitter city rivals Sheffield United, and despite some Wednesday fans voicing a desire for him, he has now cooled on the idea.

“I spoke to Milan last night and we both realised that it wasn’t the right time. I don’t think it was going to benefit anybody by dragging it on.” Warnock told Alan Brazil this morning.

The Owls are still looking for a new boss after sacking Dave Jones last week.  They were rumoured to be looking at Rotherham gaffer, Steve Evans, but he has issued a statement claiming he will not be making the short move to Hillsborough.
