Crawley Appoint Gregory

Crawley have officially appointed John Gregory as their new manager.

The former Villa, QPR and Derby boss, 59, was initially a shock when first linked with the job, as he has not managed in England since 2007.  His most recent jobs were in Israel (with Maccabi Ahi Nazareth – let the biblical references begin) and Kazakhstan.   He signs an 18 month contract at the Checkatrade.com Stadium

Gregory hopes to stop the rot at Crawley, with Town currently in 15th in League One and on an 8 match winless streak.

Following Richie Barker’s sacking last week, Steve Coppell stepped down from his role as Director of Football, which was believed to be the only stumbling block in appointing the ex Wycombe Wanderers boss.
