The72 Football League Weekend Awards: Week 12

UPSET OF THE WEEKEND: Stevenage 1-0 Burton Albion

imageSome might not call this one an upset, especially with both teams in a spell of indifferent form, but it’s always an upset when you win a game without registering a shot of any kind. That was only made possible by Ian Sharps’ unfortunate own goal  but Stevenage won’t mind one bit, it’s the ultimate smash and grab win of the century.

It’s not with a bang but a whimper which signals the end of Gary Rowett’s reign as Burton boss as he moves on to Birmingham City but whoever takes on the job will have to make this side more consistent if they want to meet their promotion expectations. Stevenage, however, will need to find their shooting boots next week if they want to score, unless they can make the opposition score for them, of course.
