The72 Football League Weekend Awards: Week 11

PLAYER OF THE WEEKEND: Chris Martin – Derby County

soccer-brighton-derby-celeb-v-brighton_3138030Chris Martin is a terror to defences and he showed that again against Reading, scoring twice when he could have scored a hatful on another day. His first was a decent finish, he second was clever and on both occasions he showed his upper-body strength, bullying the opponents into submission before providing a deadly finish.

If it wasn’t for Adam Federici, Martin would have had a hat-trick and the forward looked dangerous every time the ball was in his vicinity. That’s eight goals in the league for the Derby man now, he’s well on his way to another 20+ goal season and he could fire the Rams back into promotion contention again this season.
