FANS OF THE WEEKEND: Bristol City and Carlisle United
With their team top of the league, it’s great to see the Robins fans come out in force to support their team and they had the biggest following in England yesterday with 4,000 of them making the trip to the Ricoh Arena. They wouldn’t have been disappointed as Bristol City continued their table-topping form, beating Coventry 3-1 in a game they never looked like losing.
The win sees Bristol City open up a five point gap at the top of the table, the club still unbeaten after 13 games and they look like title contenders already. If the fans can keep turning out in force like this, it won’t be surprising when they help motivate this excellent team back into the Championship.
Also kudos to those few Carlisle fans who made the longest trip in English football, you deserve some praise too. It’s a shame that they went all that way for a loss but to be that dedicated to your team is something that should be heralded, top stuff boys and girls.
