5 things we learned about League 2 this weekend

Luton will challenge the top teams

Luton Town FCAfter a miserable start to the season, which saw them languishing in the lower reaches of League upon their return to the Football League, Luton have picked their results up and are now unbeaten in six matches and sitting in a very lofty fourth position. The Hatters made it four wins in a row yesterday with a brilliant 2-0 win against fellow high-flyers Southend United thanks to goals from Alex Lawless and Mark Cullen. Town’s hugely frustrating 1-0 home defeat to Plymouth at the start of September, which was televised live on Sky Sports, provided the catalyst for what has been a fabulous month-and-a-half for Luton, of which the only blot on the copybook has been a 1-0 home defeat to Crawley in the JPT. If John Still’s men can continue this form throughout the rest of this month and into November, they could be easily be sitting top of the league in just a few short weeks as they have a series of struggling teams to come.
