Watford, Bournemouth and Derby County are all interested in free agent left-back Jordan Obita, as per The Sun (25.09.20, page 55).

The Championship trio are all weighing up a move for the ex-England Under-20 international.

Obita, who is 26 years old, was released by Reading at the end of last season and has since been considering his options.

The Oxford-born man has spent his whole career to date on the books at the Madejski Stadium.

He rose up through the youth ranks with the Royals and had loan spells at Barnet, Gillingham, Portsmouth and Oldham Athletic before breaking into Reading’s first-team.

Obita made 191 appearances for the second tier outfit and chipped in with seven goals.

He has struggled with injuries over recent seasons but fought back in the last campaign to play 26 times.

Watford are keen to add some more new faces to their squad before the end of the transfer window and could see Obita as someone to boost their defensive options.

Derby are in the hunt for a replacement for left-back Max Lowe, who has left them for Premier League side Sheffield United. Obita is experienced in the Championship so fits the bill for the Rams.

Bournemouth are also being linked with the full-back and could try and lure him to Dean Court.
