Blackpool 0 – 0 Wolves

Blackpool picked up their first point of the season against high flying Wolves. The point sees Blackpool climb one place from the bottom of the table and Wolves go third. The game may of finished 0-0 but it was an entertaining game to watch with both teams having good chances to score. The first real chance of the game chance of the game was for Wolves’ Michael Jacobs but his superb header was magnificently saved by Pool keeper Joe Lewis. Van La Parra then nearly opened the scoring but his shot cannoned of the post. Blackpool then had there first big chance of the game four minutes after the restart, but Blackpool captain Tony McMahon’s shot hit the side netting. Nile Ranger then wasted the best opportunity of the game as he was one on one with the keeper but his shot crashed the bar. Both teams had a couple more half chances but the game finished 0-0 a fair result.


Joe Lewis – Great save in the first half to deny Jacobs. 7.0
Tony McMahon – Good performance worked hard for his team. 7.0
Peter Clarke – Fantastic display, did not put a foot wrong. 8.5
Donervon Daniels – Improving every game, very good performance alongside Clarke. 8
Juan Oriol – Good going forward, given a hard time by Van La Parra. 6.5
Andrea Orlandi – Very composed on the ball, quiet though. 7.0
David Perkins – Worked very hard. 7.0
John Lundstram – Keeps the ball very well and is always there to offer for the ball. 7.0
Edu Oriol – First full debut, was a threat going forward. 7.5
Nathan Delfouneso – Excellent performance, looked dangerous every time he had the ball. 7.5
Nile Ranger – Very unlucky with his effort that hit the bar, held the ball up well. 6.5


Ishmael Miller – Looked lively when he came on. 6.5
Francois Zoko – Did not make too much of an impact. 6.0
Sergei Zenjov –  Brought on very late in the game. 6.0


Carl Ikeme – Did everything he had to do. 7.0
Matt Doherty – Good performance, looked good going forward as well. 7.5
Danny Batth- Heart in mouth moment when Ranger easily got passed him and went through one on one. 7.0
Richard Stearman – Solid performance. 7.0
Scott Goldbourne – Worked hard, very comfortable on the ball. 7.0
Kevin Mcdonald – Always wanted the ball, but wasted possession far too often. 6.5
George Saville – Looked dangerous throughout. 7.5
David Edwards – Battled hard throughout the game. 7.0
Rajiv van La Parra- Wolves’ best player, looked very dangerous, probably should not have been subbed off. 8.0
Michael Jacobs – Very lively on the wing. 7.0
Nouah Dicko – Struggled to make a big impact on his return to Bloomfield Road. 6.5


Bakary Sako- Did not really impact the game. 6.0
Leon Clarke – Had no chances, chased the ball down well. 6.0
James Henry – Didn’t test Oriol as much as La Parra did. 6.0

Man of the Match

Peter Clarke – Did not put a foot wrong and also made some fantastic blocks. Helped the team to their first clean sheet this season 8.5
