TEAM OF THE WEEKEND: Cambridge United
What a real blockbuster performance this weekend from League Two new boys Cambridge United, who put five past a despondent Carlisle United side this weekend. A goal on 22 minutes from Issa Diallo followed by two doubles from Robbie Simpson and 20-year-old debutant Jayden Stockley saw the U’s come out comfortable winners against a side relegated from League One last season.
Richard Money’s men were dangerous throughout the contest, bombarding Carlisle’s goal which on another day could have seen six or seven fly into the back of the net. A terrific result for them, a poor one for the Cumbrians in Graham Kavanagh’s last game in charge as they try and find a foothold within the division that the U’s have found with ease.
