BLOOPER OF THE WEEKEND: Heurelho Gomes being Heurelho Gomes
The Brazilian goalkeeper was at his wonderfully wacky best this past weekend as he made several little blunders in Watford’s win against Huddersfield. He flapped at an early opportunity, couldn’t hold on to a tame effort for the Terrier’s first goal and was playing “Should I stay or should I go?” for their second.
We’ve seen him put in some barmy efforts for Tottenham and a few have seen him put in some even sillier performances on loan at Hoffenheim, which really undermines what can be an excellent goalkeeper. Luckily it didn’t stop Watford from winning this week but against better opposition , Gomes will need to be on top form.
