Championship Weekend Preview

Norwich City v AFC Bournemouth

Two of the league’s more attacking sides meet at Carrow Road with differing form in the league after a busy couple of weeks.

grabbanNorwich lost on the opening weekend at Wolves, but since then it has been non-stop from the Canaries. Wins over at home against Watford and Blackburn were backed up last weekend by grinding out a win at Ipswich who have been impressive this season. Neil Adams rotated his squad for the League Cup game against Crawley but they had more than enough against the League 1 side winning 3-1. Lewis Grabban has been a fine signing for Norwich, joining from today’s opponents in the summer. He netted 22 goals last season and already has four goals this season. Expect the forward to get a good reception from the travelling Bournemouth fans although there will be no love lost on the pitch as he looks to find the net. He is this game’s key man.

After winning their opening two game’s of the season Bournemouth started a run of tough games last mid-week against Nottingham Forest. How the Cherries lost that game is a story for another day, but they just could not put their chances away and at Blackburn individual errors cost them as they let in three goals in the space of 15 minutes. Despite a late fightback it was second defeat in a five days for the Cherries and it is going to be a tough task to get back to winning ways in the league at Norwich. There was a win for Bournemouth in the League Cup against League 2 opposition in Northampton and this should restore some confidence lost from the two defeats.

Score prediction: 2-1 Norwich win
