Championship Weekend Preview

Fulham v Cardiff City

Two of the sides relegated from the Premier League last season face-off after differing starts to the season.

Fulham have made a disastrous start to the season. Bottom of the table, without a single point to their name. Star striker Ross McCormack is yet to open his account in the league and Fulham have scored just two goals in their four games so far this season. They have managed to progress in the League Cup after McCormack scored at Brentford in an edgy 1-0 win. The Cottagers have been handed a favourable home tie against League 1 Doncaster and they should be able to progress. When the sides met last season Cardiff won on both occasions, last time out it was 3-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium.

After a speculative draw at Blackburn they put a good run together, losing for the first time this season at Wolves last weekend. A mid-week win at Port Vale has  set-up a tie against fellow Championship side Bournemouth at the Cardiff City stadium. Peter Whittingham remains a creative wizard for Cardiff this season and he has made a solid start to the campaign. He is this game’s key man.

Score prediction: 2-1 Cardiff win
