Derby County have beaten Bolton Wanderers to the signing of Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe on loan.

Ibe, 18, is a product of the Liverpool youth system and Brendan Rogers is reportedly keen to see him develop into a potential first team player. He joins the Rams until the end of the season and adds to a roster of wide attacking players that already includes Jamie Ward, Johnny Russell, Simon Dawkins and fellow youngster Ivan Calero.

“We’re delighted that Liverpool have again chosen to loan us one of their promising young players.”   said Derby boss Steve Mclaren.

“Jordon Ibe is someone who we’ve been aware of for quite a while and have been impressed whenever we’ve seen him in action.

“He has a lot of potential and we believe that we can help his career development.”

Ibe is expected to be in the squad to face Ipswich at the iPro stadium tomorrow.
