It looks a decent weekend in the Leagues, and with Leeds and Wolves away this weekend, we’ll be counting those fans again! This week, we’re going to look at 1 game form each of the leagues, with a little betting round-up. Some value to be found this weekend, with some very in-form teams playing some poor performers
Championship: Doncaster v Leicester
Whilst Doncaster have won 1 in 6, Leicester have lost 1 in 6 – winning 4 and drawing once. Leicester are without doubt one of the in-form teams in the Championship sitting 4th in the 6-week Form Guide, whilst Doncaster are trailing down in 18th. In their last 6, Leicester are showing a scored/conceeded rank of 1.57, against a 0.57 of Doncaster, conceeding 3 more than they’ve scored.
Therefore, in the Championship, the value bet of the league seems to be Leicester who would surely be so much shorter if they were playing at home. 21/20 BET365
David Nugent has scored 5 times in the past 6 matches (albeit 4 penalties), so shows promise to be a goalscorer at 5/1 first, and 11/8 anytime.
League One: Oldham v Leyton Orient
Back to the old betting favorites for this season – Orient. Top of the league, not a loss against their name this season, and broke their winning spell with a draw last game against Walsall. However, coming in to this game, Orient are still top of the world and flying high. On the other hand, Oldham have only won 1 in the last 6, putting them 17th in the Form Guide and 16th in the actual table. At 13/8, it’s the value bet of the league and a steal.
Lisbie and Mooney are both likely scorers at 13/8 and 6/4, but in a match like this, are much better value to be first goal scorers at 11/2 the pair (meaning if either get the first goal, you get paid at 11/4). Mooney is top of the goalscorers league for League 1 so stands a good chance to make it his 1oth goal of the season so far.
With goals in mind, if you think this is really going to be a walkover, a HT/FT bet on Orient/Orient is paying 7/2 withSpreadEx and 100/30 with Stan James. Could be a real value bet.
League Two: Oxford Utd v Southend
Oxford are sitting pretty, 2nd in the league, 9th in the form guide, losing only 1 game in 6, although drawing 3 times. Southend on the other hand are filling space in the relegation zone, with little improvement expected for this game, having not won in the past 6. There’s not a lot to get excited about in betting terms this week, but Oxford could prove value for accumulators at 5/4 with Coral.
Treble: Leicester to win, Orient/Orient HT/FT, Oxford to win. 11.5/1
First Scorers Doubles: Nugent/Lisbie 39/1, Nugent/Mooney 39/1.
And singles as always.
