Luton Town “on the verge” of shock reunion with Nathan Jones

A report from Football Insider has claimed that Luton Town are “on the verge” of completing a surprise deal to reunite with former manager Nathan Jones after the departure of Graeme Jones in April.

Luton Town brought in Graeme Jones last summer to come in and take the reigns at Kenilworth Road on a permanent basis after Mick Harford guided the Hatters to promotion in the second half of the 2018/19 campaign.

But, Graeme Jones departed his role by mutual consent last month and now, a shock replacement is said to be on the verge of a return to the club. Nathan Jones – who left Luton Town to join Stoke City in January 2019 – is said to be close to completing a return to the club to replace his namesake as manager.

Nathan Jones has been out of a job since he was sacked as manager of Stoke City in November. His time as Potters manager far from went to plan, winning just 15.8% of his games in charge of the club. He has been out of a job since but could be set for an imminent return in surprising fashion.

Jones left Luton when they were sat at the top of the League One table in 2019. The club were favourites to go up and were in almost unstoppable form. Harford ended up guiding the club to promotion, despite the mid-season shock of losing their manager.

Jones previously enjoyed a thoroughly successful time as Luton Town boss. He won more than half of his games in charge, guiding them to promotion to League One before setting them on the tracks to a consecutive promotion.

Luton fans, would you be happy if Jones was to return as manager?
