Leeds United and Luton Town are being linked with a summer loan swoop for arsenal goalkeeper james hillson, as per espn‘s live transfer blog (12.33).
The likes of Barnsley, Sunderland and Portsmouth are also believed to be interested in the young stopper.
Hillson, who is 19 years old, is expected to be loaned out by the Gunners to get some first-team experience under his belt next season and is not short of options by the looks of things.
He is yet to make a first-team appearance for Arsenal but is being tipped for a bright future with the London club.
Mikel Arteta’s side are set to hand him a new contract at the Emirates Stadium and he is due to train with their senior side this week.
Leeds currently have Kiko Casilla and Illan Meslier as their current two goalkeeping options, but with Kamil Miazek and Will Huffer out of contract this summer, the Championship promotion hopefuls may be targeting some more depth in that position over the coming months.
Luton, on the other hand, will need a new ‘keeper if Simon Sluga departs the club. The Croatian international’s long-term future at Kenilworth Road could be up in the air if the Hatters are relegated to League One.
Sunderland may also need a stopper. Their current number one Jon McLaughlin’s deal expires at the end of next month and he is being linked with a switch to Blackburn Rovers.
Hillson is a name to watch out for this summer with plenty of Football League sides monitoring his situation.
