Speaking to Sky Sports, pundit Keith Andrews have moved to heap praise on West Brom’s loan star Grady Diangana, saying the West Ham loanee has been “a revelation” since making the move to the Baggies.
West Ham youngster Grady Diangana joined West Brom last summer in a season-long loan deal to allow him to play consistent first-team football to continue his development and since making the move to The Hawthorns, he has not disappointed.
The 22-year-old has scored five goals and laid on six assists in 21 Championship appearances so far. Injury has limited his involvement in the second half of the season but he has starred out on the left-wing when fit.
Now, the winger has earned praise from former midfielder Keith Andrews. Andrews has said to Sky Sports that he has been thoroughly impressed by the young winger’s impact on Slaven Bilic’s West Brom side. He said:
“I’ve been very impressed right from the off. I’m sure he was in the plans [at West Ham] but I think they came to the right conclusion in letting him go out and then it was about finding the best possible environment where he could flourish and play enough minutes.
“He came off the bench against Luton in his first game and scored two goals and he’s been a revelation since. The injury hampered things a little bit but I’ve been very impressed.
“He’s been fantastic and the one thing he does is get them up the pitch quickly. He’s got electric pace, whereas last year they were having to be very precise in how they built up play. Now they’ve got a more dynamic team and in him, in particular, they’ve got raw pace.”
Diangana has been an important creative force for the Baggies. He and fellow loan man Matheus Pereira have been causing havoc for Championship defences this season and should the campaign be resumed, fans will be looking forward to seeing them back in action.
