In the Championship’s play-off final in 2013/14, Queens Park Rangers faced Derby County in an effort to win the last of three promotion spots to the Premier League. Derby dominated possession throughout the tie and registered five shots on target from 16 shots and their chances were boosted when Gary O’Neil was sent off.
However, it was Queens Park Rangers who won the game. The R’s won the game thanks to a 90th-minute winner from Bobby Zamora with their first shot on the game.
The club paid homage to the win on Sunday afternoon and former loan man Ravel Morrison – who spent the second half of the season on loan at Loftus Road as they won promotion – has moved to say that he thinks that the side is the best the Championship has ever seen. He said on Twitter:
“What a day… what a season… Great Club, I think it’s the best team the championship has ever seen!”
Morrison had spent the first half of the season with parent club West Ham and came into add some more creative force to QPR’s side. He netted six goals and provided two assists in a total of 17 appearances in his stint with the club.
Do you agree with Morrison here? is QPR’s 2013/14 side the best the Championship has ever seen?
