West Yorkshire Preview

Bradford City have had the best start to the season of the three West Yorkshire sides, with three wins and a draw, and they prepare for a mouth-watering League Cup clash with Leeds on Wednesday with a home game against Peterborough tomorrow. Derby loanee Mason Bennett may start in place of Aaron McLean, but Billy Clarke will miss out on this one, due to a hamstring injury. The Bantams will hope that James Hanson can continue his fine start to the season, scoring 3 times, including a bullet header to win their first game against Coventry City.

Huddersfield Town’s start has been very inconsistent, but a 2-1 midweek win over Reading will have boosted confidence. Still with caretaker manager Mark Lillis in charge, the Terriers have been linked with a whole host of names, from Neil Lennon to Neil Warnock. A new manager is needed quickly, to ensure that Huddersfield maintain some consistency. Town are at home to Charlton, who have two wins and a draw to their name so far, and this will be a test for Huddersfield’s character and team strength.

Leeds United produced a dismal performance on Tuesday night, as they barely put up a fight in a 2-0 defeat to Brighton, at Elland Road. However, the 1-0 win over Middlesborough will still be fresh in the back of the players’ minds, and Leeds do have the ability to produce good performances. Ternana striker Mirco Antenucci became Leeds’ 11th signing of the summer this week, and he may make an appearance tomorrow as they visit Watford.
