Five Wigan Athletic players who are out of contract in June

As we carry on our look through out of contract players in the Championship, it is now time to look at Wigan Athletic-

Chey Dunkley- The centre-back has enjoyed a hot streak in front of goal this season for Paul Cook’s side, chipping in with six goals. He has been a key player for the Lancashire side in his first three years at the club and they will be keen on extending his stay.

Michael Jacobs- He is currently in his fifth campaign at the DW Stadium after joining in 2015 from Wolves. The 28 year old has made over 150 appearances for the North-West outfit and has helped them gain promotion to the second tier twice during his time at the club.

Joe Garner- His two-year deal he penned after signing from Ipswich Town in 2018 is coming to an end soon. The experienced striker has previously played for the likes of Nottingham Forest, Preston North End and Rangers in his lengthy career.

Garner is in Ipswich days.

Gary Roberts- The 36 year old has played under Cook at Chesterfield, Portsmouth and Wigan but could leave on a free transfer in two months’ time. He has injected some experience into the Latics’ squad over the past few seasons.

Anthony Pilkington- He joined from Cardiff City in January 2019 on an 18-month contract. The Republic of Ireland international has scored twice this season and will have to be patient before finding out what the future holds for him at Wigan.
