QPR’s trio of young stars will thrive in the Premier League predicts coach

Speaking to West London Sport, Queens Park Rangers coach Neil Banfield has said that the club will not able to stand in the way of their young stars should they receive big offers from the Premier League, predicting that Eberechi Eze, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ilias Chair will all grace the top flight.

QPR pair Eberechi Eze and Bright Osayi-Samuel have both been star performers for Mark Warburton’s side over the course of the 2019/20 campaign, while Ilias Chair has also impressed in what has been his first full campaign with the senior side at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Eze, who has netted 12 goals and laid on eight assists in 37 Championship appearances, and Osayi-Samuel, who has provided eight assists and scored five goals in 29 League games, have both been subject to interest from the Premier League and now, R’s coach Neil Banfield has tipped them to have a future in the top flight. Banfield also predicted that Chair will grace the top flight as well after an impressing showing in his first full senior season with the club.

Whether or not it is with QPR, it awaits to be seen, but Banfield has said that he is confident they all have the ability to impress in the top flight. Speaking to West London Sport, he said:

They’ve got really bright futures and I think they can definitely grace the Premier League,” said Banfield of Eze, Osayi-Samuel and Chair.

“They can all handle the ball, they work hard, have got a good attitude and they’ve been schooled really well. Obviously we don’t want them to leave. We’d want them to stay at the club, get the club promoted and play in the Premier League for the Rangers.

“We’d love to get promoted and play with Ebs, Ilias and Brighty, but I think you’ve got to be realistic.”

However, Banfield noted that the club have to be realistic with the position they are in at the moment despite believing they can challenge for promotion in the new couple of seasons. The coach said that if a club comes in with a big money offer for one of their stars, they will not be able to stand in their way. He said:

“We’re seeing, and hopefully the fans are seeing, that there is now a structure and a way we want to develop. But the real world is that if a club comes in now with loads of money then those lads have got to go. It’s just a fact of life.

“If the offers come in of £20m and £20m-plus, I don’t think there would be many clubs that could turn that down.”
