Hull City defender Lewis Ritson attracting interest from elsewhere

Hull City defender Lewis Ritson is attracting attention from elsewhere, as per a report by Football Insider.

St Mirren, Perugia and Shelbourne are all keeping tabs on the youngster ahead of a potential summer move.

Ritson, who is 21 years old, is out of contract at the KCOM Stadium at the end of the season and is weighing up his options.

He joined his hometown club at the age of 16 and has captained the Tigers at all youth levels. However, he has never made a first-team appearance despite being on the bench on a handful of occasions in the last campaign under Nigel Adkins.

Ritson has spent the majority of this season out on loan in the National League North with Blyth Spartans to gain some senior experience.

St Mirren are looking into a move for Ritson in a few months time with the Scottish Premiership side eager to bring in another defender. They had Hull defender Sean McLoughlin on loan for the first-half of this season and may turn to his colleague now.

Italian Serie B outfit Perugia are being linked with a move for him as well with them keen on bringing in some young talent from overseas.

Shelbourne have already had an approach rejected by Hull for Ritson but may rekindle their interest in him this summer. The defender will not be short of options in the near future, one of which may be staying in East Yorkshire if Grant McCann’s side are relegated to League One.
