On-loan Portsmouth left-back Steve Seddon comments on future plans

On-loan Portsmouth defender Steve Seddon has admitted he is open to finding a permanent home this summer, as per a report by The Portsmouth News.

He joined Kenny Jackett’s side on loan from Birmingham City in the January transfer window and has impressed since his switch.

Seddon, who is 22 years old, has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at St. Andrew’s, hence why he was loaned out to Fratton Park. However, he still has a year left on his contract with the Blues when his loan at Pompey expires.

He joined Birmingham in 2014 having previously been on the books at Reading and has had also loan spells away from the Midlands at Stevenage and AFC Wimbledon so far in his career.

Seddon has admitted he is unsure what the future holds for him just yet, as per the Portsmouth News: “First and foremost, I’m taking things game by game. I’m not the type of person who looks too far into the future. For me, we have got Arsenal and then Peterborough and they’re two massive games.”

“If I’m honest, my family and my agent can worry about things like that. For me, it’s about playing football and that’s what I enjoy doing. So that’s what I’ll continue to do and play to the best of my ability. I do want a permanent home, but I’m limited to saying things at the moment.”

He added: “We’ll have to see where I am in Birmingham’s eyes in the summer. At the end of the day, I am contracted to them.”

Seddon will be looking to help Portsmouth cause a shock in the FA Cup tonight as they take on Arsenal in the Fifth Round.
