Grant McCann has warned his Hull City side they will get “hammered” by Leeds United this weekend if they don’t improve, as per a report by Hull Live.
Marcelo Bielsa’s promotion hopefuls travel to East Yorkshire on Saturday looking to continue their decent form. Meanwhile, Hull are in freefall and face a battle to avoid relegation to League One between now and the end of the season.
The Tigers lost 1-0 against Barnsley last night at the KCOM Stadium, with Cauley Woodrow getting the goal for the Tykes in the first-half.
Hull are 17th in the league and four points off the drop zone. They have not won in the league since New Years Day and have lost seven of their last nine games.
McCann has said, as per Hull Live: “We’ve got a very, very tough game on Saturday. One of the best teams in the league are coming here. If we perform like we did (against Barnsley) then we’ll get hammered. That’s exactly what I’ve told the group.”
“We need to roll our sleeves up now, do it for themselves, do it for their families, do it for this football club. They need to start taking responsibility and that’s everyone.”
He added: “Confidence is a big thing in football and at the minute we’ve got a low group. We have to pick them up and go again. In tough times you’ve got to stick together and stay strong. The belief has got to run through the group.”
