New Middlesbrough signing Harold Moukoudi tells fans what to expect

Middlesbrough defender Harold Moukoudi arrived at the club on deadline day and has told supporters what to expect when he steps out on the pitch. Speaking to Middlesbrough’s official website, the centre-back explained why he chose to sign for the Teessiders.

“In France, you know Middlesbrough,” he said.

“I played here in pre-season, and I saw a good team, good players and a younger group. For me, I think that’s the best. I want to help the team progress because I am a young player myself.

“I had a lot of clubs in this window but I chose Middlesbrough.

“I am impressed by the stadium. In France, the second league haven’t got stadiums like this, and the feeling when I played here was special.”

Moukoudi went on to describe exactly what sort of player Boro fans should expect to see out on the pitch.

“I will try to be cool and aggressive, learn the tactics and the mentality of the group, and communicate with the other defenders. I will have to learn the language – I need my best English!”

“It’s a new style of football for me, but I think I can play like English football.

“I am physical, but I try to play with my feet, so I am not just a physical guy.

“My qualities are defensive, tackling, but I can score too. I scored six [at previous club Le Havre] and if I can help the team in any way I will.”

The 22-year old is yet to make his debut for the club, having not been registered in time to play against Blackburn Rovers last weekend. He is in line to make his first start away at Brentford on Saturday.
