An updated five potential candidates for the Cambridge United job

Cambridge United remain in the hunt for a new permanent manager to replace Colin Calderwood. Here is an updated five candidates for the vacant position-

Ian Evatt- The ex-Derby County, QPR, Blackpool and Chesterfield defender has been linked with U’s after an impressive season at the helm at Barrow. His side are currently top of the National League but face a battle to hold on to their manager.

Terry McPhillips- He is an option for Cambridge and has been available since parting company with Blackpool last July. The 51 year old, who spent his playing career with the likes of Halifax Town and Crewe Alexandra, guided the Tangeries to a 10th place finish in League One last term.

Mark Bonner- He is currently in caretaker charge at the Abbey Stadium and won his first game at the helm with a late turnaround against Colchester United. Could he be considered for the full-time role now?

Paul Tisdale- The experienced boss was sacked MK Dons earlier this season despite getting them promoted to the third tier last season. He previously managed Exeter City for 12 years and will walk into a job in League Two. He would be ideal for Cambridge but may still be weighing up his next move.
