Sunderland interested In Manchester United Scarlet On Loan

According to the Daily Mail Sunderland are interested in Manchester United midfielder James Garner on loan.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been involved in seven first-team games this season in all competitions for Manchester United including the Premier League.

The Red Devils are yet to make a decision on the future of James Garner’s season as they are short of midfielders, with injuries to many first-team players meaning he could play a part in United’s second half of the season.

One possible destination for the youngster could be the North East with Sunderland thought to be wanting Garner for the rest of the season. Sunderland are currently 6th in League One with promotion in their sights come the end of the season as they look to rectify the disappointment of losing in the Play-Off final last year to Charlton.

With the 18-year-old not playing much senior football so far in his career a move to the Black Cats could do him the world of good to gain some first-team experience as they look to get back to the Championship. However, with his inexperience of playing at senior level, he may not be the answer for Phil Parkinson’s side.

It’s certain The Black Cats are looking to bolster their midfield this window with them being linked with Cardiff City’s Will Vaulks and Rangers’ Greg Docherty and now Garner. Phil Parkinson has clearly identified the centre of midfield as a position they could improve ongoing into the second half of the campaign.
