Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell has revealed his decision to Rangers and Celtic regarding his future as he claims he doesn’t want to leave England according to The Daily Record.
Campbell decided to contact both of the Scottish clubs to inform them that he won’t be leaving England and thanked them for their interest.
The Potters striker has been in demand this transfer window with several English clubs also said to be monitoring him. Although he has pledged his immediate future to this country, this doesn’t confirm he will be staying at the Bet365 Stadium.
The England under-20 international’s representatives had held pre-contract talks with both Celtic and Rangers with him being available at a knockdown price should he have moved to Scotland.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon had played down links with Campbell but he was hopeful of pulling off a deal. Rangers manager Steven Gerrard was also interested as he could have provided stiff competition for Alfredo Morelos.
Campbell, who is the son of former footballer Kevin Campbell, has been in good form for Stoke in recent weeks and scored the only goal of the game in the 1-0 victory over league leaders West Bromwich Albion.
The striker did however get substituted during the game for what appeared to be a hamstring injury during the shock win against the Baggies.
Sheffield United have also registered interest in Campbell and he could be open to a move to the top flight but Stoke will at least be more confident of retaining him with the news of him wishing to remain in England.
