Millwall targeting one more signing in this transfer window

Millwall are hoping to sign one more player in this transfer window, as per a report by London News Online.

The Lions have so far managed to secure a deal to sign midfielder Ryan Woods on loan from Stoke City but are eager to bring in someone else to further ] bolster their squad.

Gary Rowett’s side are currently a point outside the Championship Play-Offs and want a squad capable of challenging for promotion for the second-half of the season.

In terms of outgoings this month from The Den, the London side have let Tom Elliott leave for Salford City and Jason McCarthy go back to Wycombe Wanderers.

Rowett has admitted his side will not be that busy between now and the end of the month, as per London News Online: “Realistically we’ll probably do one more. I don’t really see a need to make more changes. There’s areas long term that we would like to strengthen – just the depth and amount of players in that position.”

“But at the same time you could see at the weekend that we’ve got a lot of players who I think have got more potential – Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Connor Mahoney, just to name a couple. We have to be careful we don’t bring in too many and it stops them getting an opportunity.”

He added: “I do feel that we need the opportunity to bring something different in the forward area, but potentially everywhere else we are okay. Sometimes you have to leave the door ajar for the likes of James Brown and Billy Mitchell. And there are a few in our U23s who are pushing to be involved.”

Millwall are in FA Cup action this weekend and take on Sheffield United at home.
