Sheffield United move for Nottingham Forest defender Jack Robinson

Sheffield United have made a move for Nottingham Forest’s Jack Robinson, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter (tweet below).

The Blades want to add more depth to their defensive options and are hoping to bring the versatile defender to the Premier League this winter.

Robinson, who is 26 years old, can play as either a left-back or centre-back and has played a handful of times in the top flight in the past for Liverpool.

He started his career at Anfield and rose up through their youth ranks, making his first team debut in a league game against Hull City in May 2010. He then went on to make a further 10 times for the current European champions.

Robinson then had loan spells away at Wolves and Blackpool in the Championship to get some experience under his belt and was then snapped up by QPR on a permanent basis in 2014, before being immediately loaned out to Huddersfield Town.

On his return to London, Robinson struggled with injuries during his first couple of seasons with the Hoops but went on to become a key player for them in the 2017/18 season.

However, he rejected a contract offer by QPR and moved on to Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2018 and has been with the Reds since then.

Robinson could now be set for a move back up to the Premier League before the end of the transfer window with Sheffield United, seven years since he was last playing in the top tier.
