Bristol City, Stoke City and Sunderland want Cardiff City midfielder Will Vaulks

Bristol City, Stoke City and Sunderland are all interested in Cardiff City’s Will Vaulks, according to the Daily Mail.

The central midfielder only joined the Bluebirds from Rotherham United last summer but is already being linked with a move away.

Vaulks, who is 26 years old, has played 12 times in all competitions for the Welsh side this season and has scored once. He still has two years left on the contract he signed in late June.

Bristol City are in the hunt for a couple of reinforcements to bolster their squad before the end of the transfer window and could approach their rivals for Vaulks.

Stoke City are also expecting to have a busy couple of weeks as Michael O’Neill looks to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad.

Sunderland are being linked but face a tough ask in persuading Vaulks to drop into League One this winter amid interest from second tier sides.

Vaulks started his career at Tranmere Rovers but never made a senior appearance for the Whites. He had a loan spell in non-league at Workington before leaving Prenton Park on a permanent deal to move up to Scotland to join Falkirk in 2013.

He became a key player for the Bairns and spent four years with them, making 142 appearances for them and scoring 42 goals.

Rotherham swooped to sign him in 2016 and an impressive three seasons with the Millers earned him his move to Cardiff last year. However, he could be set to leave the Bluebirds now after six months.
