Lincoln City defender Harry Toffolo edging towards Huddersfield Town move

Lincoln City defender Harry Toffolo is edging towards a move to Huddersfield Town, according to a report by the Examiner Live.

The Terriers are working on a deal to bring the Imps left-back to the Championship.

Toffolo, who is 24 years old, played under Huddersfield boss Danny Cowley at Sincil Bank and is now poised to reunite with him in Yorkshire. He is out of contract with Michael Appleton’s side at the end of the season anyway.

He joined Lincoln in June 2018 and played every one of their games during their promotion campaign from League Two. He has since impressed in League One and is set to be rewarded with a move up a division this month.

Toffolo started his career at Norwich City and rose up through the youth ranks at Carrow Road. He went on to make three senior appearances for the Canaries but spent much of his early career out on loan.

He had stints in the lower leagues with Swindon Town, Rotherham United, Peterborough United, Scunthorpe United and Doncaster Rovers.

Toffolo left Norwich on a permanent deal and subsequently joined Championship side Millwall in January 2018, but left the Lions after five months without playing a game for them.

Huddersfield have so far signed Richard Stearman and Emile Smith-Rowe from Sheffield United and Arsenal respectively this month. They are now working on deals for Leicester City midfielder Andy King and Lincoln’s Toffolo to further bolster their ranks.
