ADO Den Haag targeting loan move for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton

ADO Den Haag are interested in a loan move for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton, according to a report by the Lancashire Telegraph.

The Dutch side are now managed by ex-Newcastle United and Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew and could target English reinforcements in this transfer window.

They are looking into bringing Brereton to the Eredivisie to help get his career back on track after his injury problems this season.

Brereton, who is 20 years old, has scored just once for Rovers since joining them for a fee of around £7 million in January from Nottingham Forest.

The former England Under-20 international was born in Stoke-On-Trent and started his career in the academy at Stoke City before he was released in 2015. He subsequently joined Nottingham Forest and became a key player for their youth sides.

Brereton burst into the Forest first team and went on to make 57 appearances and chipped in with eight goals all together.

Blackburn signed him on loan in August 2018 and made the move permanent five months later. However, he has struggled for goals since moving to Ewood Park.

ADO Den Haag are now keen on signing him to help their push for survival in the Dutch first tier. English players have moved to that league and impressed, such as Mason Mount at Vitesse, so it is a potential challenge that could interest Brereton.

Blackburn are in need of some attacking signings this month so they may have to wait to see if they sign anyone before letting anyone leave the club.
