Phil tweeted this earlier today confirming that a deal is expected to go through before tomorrow’s round of fixtures.
Coyle is extremely well-known to Fleetwood Town fans, having spent the last two and a half seasons on-loan at the Fylde Coast club.
His contract at Leeds United is up in the summer, and early reports had suggested that Leeds wanted £500,000 for the 24-year old, with North East side Sunderland reportedly interested in securing his signature.
It remains unknown the exact price of the transfer, but it appeared that Fleetwood have come out on top.
Coyle is a product of the Leeds United academy, and despite having loads of potential and being highly rated at Elland Road, things never worked out and he was first loaned out to Fleetwood back in 2017.
After a successful season, the Sky Bet League One club loaned him back for the following campaign, before signing him on a third loan spell back in the summer.
That loan spell came to an end earlier this month, but it appears he could be making his way back to the Fylde Coast a lot sooner than expected.
During his time at Fleetwood Town, Lewie Coyle won players’ player of the year back in 2018 for his first season at the club and was also voted Junior Cod Army player of the year, as voted for by the fans.
