League One club Crewe Alexandra have managed to sign Stoke City midfielder Jamie Ness on loan until 5 January, As released by The Railwaymen’s official website

The Scotland Under-21 International’s arrival follows the recent transfer of Manchester City defender Greg Leigh, who has signed a similar loan deal.

Ness began his career at Glasgow Rangers where he made 18 first-team appearances scoring two goals.

After two years in Scotland Ness moved to Stoke on a four-year contract in July 2012, and whilst under contract has spent time on loan at Leyton Orient.

Whilst on loan the 23-year-old scored once in 14 appearances for the O’s as helping them reached the League One play-offs last at season.

His first and only appearance for the Premiership club came as a substitute in a League Cup defeat by Swindon back in August 2012.
