Blackburn Rovers set sights on Rangers winger Jordan Jones – Stoke City and Middlesbrough previously linked

According to a report from the Daily Record, Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing Northern Irish winger Jordan Jones from Scottish Premiership side Rangers this January.

Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray is looking to bring in some new faces in the January transfer window. And, with Bradley Dack now out for the rest of the season and beyond, Rovers could be in the market for a new creative force.

Now, it has been claimed by the Daily Record that the Championship side are holding an interest in Rangers winger Jordan Jones, who has struggled to make an impact since signing for the club in the summer transfer window due to injury. It is said that Mowbray is a “huge admirer” of Jones and could look to bring in to Ewood Park in an initial loan deal with a view to a permanent move in the summer transfer window.

Jones, 25, has had his involvement limited this season, spending most of the first half of the season out with a knee injury. As a boyhood Rangers fan, it is said that he may not be willing to leave the club this January having played just 10 times since arriving, providing two assists in the process.

In late December, a report from the Daily Mail said that Championship pair Stoke City and Middlesbrough were interested in Jones ahead of the January transfer window. With Blackburn now rumoured to be keen, it will be interesting to see if a move away from Ibrox materialises in January or if the winger remains to fight for a place back in Steven Gerrard’s starting 11.
