Lincoln City and Blackpool interested in Celtic centre-back Jack Hendry

Lincoln City and Blackpool are interested in Celtic defender Jack Hendry with the League One duo said to be weighing up moves for him this month according to a report in the Daily Record.

Hendry, who is 24 years old, has fallen down the pecking order at Celtic Park and is likely to leave them this winter.

Hendry moved to Celtic in January 2018 from fellow Scottish Premiership side Dundee and has since made 27 appearances for the Glasgow giants.

He started his career as a youngster with spells at Celtic, Peterborough United and Dundee United before Partick Thistle signed him in 2014.

Hendry became a key player for the Jags and earned a move to Wigan Athletic in 2015. However, his game time was limited with the Latics and he was loaned out to Shrewsbury Town and MK Dons before he joined Dundee in 2017.

Lincoln want to bolster their defensive options as Michael Appleton looks to put his stamp on his newly inherited squad. The Imps are currently 16th in the league but are only six points off the Play-Offs.

Blackpool, on the other hand, are in the hunt for another defender with on-loan Sheffield United centre-back Ben Heneghan attracting interest from elsewhere and with the Blades looking for a permanent transfer to avoid him leaving on a free in the summer. Hendry is a potential replacement on their radar as they gear up for an active transfer window.

Hendry needs to leave Celtic after being frozen out by Neil Lennon and is a decent option for both Lincoln and Blackpool.
