Nottingham Forest star linked with move to another European club

Nottingham Forest’s Joao Carvalho has been linked with a move to Greek giants Olympiacos, with speculation over his future at the City Ground continuing to grow.

The midfielder is already reportedly wanted by Turkish side Trabzonspor and the Sun on Sunday says Olympiacos have now joined the race for the 22-year-old.

Carvalho is Forest’s record signing after joining the Reds for £13.2m in the summer of 2018.

However, a move abroad could beckon in January with rumours circulating over why Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi has recently dropped him from the starting XI.

Carvalho returned to the side at the weekend but it was a disastrous day for the Reds as they were thrashed 4-0 at home by Sheffield Wednesday.

When questioned by Nottinghamshire Live about the Portuguese maestro’s future at the City Ground, Lamouchi said: “Joao Carvalho, like the others, is very professional. He has quality and he can help us a lot.

He knows exactly what I am waiting for from him.

“I don’t have any problem with him or any of the players. He is a Forest player.

“Him not being in the team is not because some offers are coming and the club will accept; it is just logical because the team and some players are doing very well,” said Lamouchi before that game.

“It (speculation) is just very flattering for them and for the club.

“It is positive for them and for the club. It is just because they are doing well.

“But we know what we want to do this year. We know our goals, and this is not the end of the season.”
