Nottingham Forest boss updates fans on future of star man Joao Carvalho

Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi says fans should not be concerned by Joao Carvalho’s recent omission from the starting XI, despite transfer interest from abroad.

The Portuguese maestro has been linked with a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor in the January transfer window.

They are reportedly ready to make an offer next month and fans have questioned why Carvalho has been left out of the starting line up for recent games against Millwall and Nottingham Forest.

However, Lamouchi said there was nothing to read into the decision to leave the midfielder out as he reiterated that Carvalho is a “Forest player”.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: “I don’t want to talk about rumours. Joao Carvalho, like the others, is very professional. He has quality and he can help us a lot.

”He knows exactly what I am waiting for from him.

”I don’t have any problem with him or any of the players. He is a Forest player.”

“We are doing very well. I am not just waiting for more from Joao.“Him not being in the team is not because some offers are coming and the club will accept; it is just logical because the team and some players are doing very well.

“It (speculation) is just very flattering for them and for the club.

“It is positive for them and for the club. It is just because they are doing well.

“But we know what we want to do this year. We know our goals, and this is not the end of the season.”
