Millwall have identified some transfer targets for January.

The Lions boss Gary Rowett has made an impressive start to life as manager at The Den and is interested in bringing in a couple of new faces to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad.

Millwall are one of the form teams in the Championship at the moment and lie in 13th position in the league, four points off the Play Offs.

Rowett has delivered an update ahead of next month’s window, as per a report by London News Online: “With it being the January window – and the position we’re in – realistically we’re waiting for things to happen,” said the Lions chief. We’re waiting for key players to become available and teams not to take some of their targets and leave other targets available. That’s the reality.”

“We’ve got an idea of what positions we’d like to strengthen in terms of the squad. There are some players on that list but it’s hard to be too specific at this moment – January is more a reactive window of what’s available – at what time – rather than the summer when you can plan it a little bit more and have a list of players.”

Millwall take on Derby County at Pride Park tomorrow and will be looking to extend their recent resurgence of form as Rowett returns to his former employers.
