Middlesbrough and Derby interested in Leeds United winger

Both Middlesbrough and Derby have certainly under-performed so far this season, with the Rams in 16th and Boro 20th.

The two sides will be looking to the January transfer window for reinforcements, and have both identified on loan Leeds United winger Jack Clarke as a potential signing, according to The Football Insider.

The youngster is currently on loan at Leeds from Premier League side Tottenham, but he has struggled for game time since arriving back at the club. Clarke has played just 19 minutes of Championship football so far this campaign, and it is likely Spurs may look to get him more playing time elsewhere.

Middlesbrough have just one natural winger in Marvin Johnson at their disposal at the moment, and could use a few fresh faces in wide areas to help their chances of staying in the division come the end of the season.

Similarly, Derby have Tom Lawrence as their go to winger, but have used defender Jaden Bogle on the opposite flank and 18-year old Morgan Whitaker in recent weeks, and may look to Clarke as an option in the winter window.

However, the report also reveals that Fulham are also interested, and this could give Clarke a good shot at playing his part regularly in a team challenging for promotion, as he is not getting the opportunities at Elland Road.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa does not want to lose Clarke though, and he believes the teenager has made significant improvements during training sessions. However, he still finds himself down the pecking order behind the likes of Helder Costa, Jack Harrison and Pablo Hernandez.
