Liverpool transfer news surrounding their pursuit of Red Bull Salzburg forward Takumi Minamino could provide a huge boost to Leeds United and Swansea City in their bid to sign youngster Rhian Brewster.

According to Sky Sports News, the Reds have virtually tied up a deal for Minamino as part of their January spending and this could pave the way for Jurgen Klopp to allow Brewster to depart on loan to a Championship side.

The 24-year-old from Salzburg has a £7.25million release clause in his contract, which has alerted a number of Premier League, Bundesliga and Serie A clubs, so the Reds are accelerating their interest in the striker who is versatile and can play in a number of forward positions.

Klopp admitted that he is open to the possibility of sending Brewster out on loan but said he could only do so there were guarantees of regular match action and if he could source a replacement.

Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest in the teenager but with Liverpool wanting assurances of game time the question is if they would meet their demands with Wesley currently their number one striker upfront.

A move to Leeds or Swansea may be more likely in this case with both clubs likely to give Brewster more minutes and with reports of Liverpool close to a new signing this could be a welcome boost for the Championship sides.

There are still no guarantees that Brewster will end up at Elland Road or the Liberty Stadium but this could potentially be a boost to their hopes of landing him.
