Leeds United defender Lewis Coyle could be sold permanently to loan club Fleetwood Town, according to reports.
Football Insider says that the 24-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of the season, could join Joey Barton’s side on a permanent basis after impressing for the Shrimpers.
A Leeds source claims that Coyle is not part of Bielsa’s plans meaning the Whites are willing to offload the defender with Fleetwood the most logical destination.
Coyle has been an ever-present in the league for Fleetwood after playing every single minute of all their 17 games in League One this season.
He is currently on a half season loan at the Lancashire club but he is no stranger to Fleetwood Town, having played for the club over 100 times across multiple loan spells dating back to 2017.
Barton, whose Fleetwood side are currently 9th in the league and two points off the play-off places with games in hand, has already made it clear he wants to sign Coyle permanently and with his future at Leeds clearly in doubt, January could finally be the time that he makes the switch to the club he has called home for the past two years.
