Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa delivers verdict on Hull City star Jarrod Bowen

Leeds United will have to keep Jarrod Bowen quiet tomorrow night if they are to beat Hull City.

The highly-rated winger scored twice against the Whites at Elland Road last season so they are well aware of the threat he poses.

Bowen, who is 22 years-old, has been one of the standout players in the Championship over the past two-and-a-half season and is valued in excess of £20 million by the Tigers.

Hull City’s  Jarrod Bowen.

He has managed 14 goals in 21 appearances so far this term under Grant McCann and will be eager to add to his tally against Leeds.

The Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa has spoken about Bowen in his pre-match press conference today: “You know how he plays. This season we can see a lot of good attackers in every team. And in most teams, not just those at the top.”

“This is a very good player who unbalances the team and he scores a lot because he has a good shot. Always we present the team how to avoid risk from the opponent when they attack. Our defensive method does not change, what changes is the level of the attacker.”

He added: “We don’t underestimate inferior opponents so we prepare ourselves for the worst situation. In this case he’s a great attacker but we keep working in the same strategy and keep trying to improve this.”

Leeds are looking to extend their winning streak to seven games, whereas Hull are keen on closing the gap on the Play-Offs which currently stands at three points.
