Preston North End are still looking to land Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

The Lilywhites are eager to bring the shot stopper to Deepdale in the upcoming January transfer window, according to a report by the Daily Star.

Liverpool’s transfer chief Julian Ward was spotted at Preston’s game against QPR last Saturday, a game in which they lost 2-0.

Kelleher, who is 21 years-old, could leave the Premier League table toppers on loan next month for more first team experience.

Preston seem the most likely destination for him at the moment and they are 7th in the Championship table, a point outside the Play-Offs. They currently have Declan Rudd, Connor Ripley and Michael Crowe as their senior goalkeeping options.

Kelleher is highly-rated by Liverpool and joined the Reds in 2015 from Irish side Ringmahon Rangers.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has trained with their first team for the past few seasons now and was on the bench in their Champions League final win over Tottenham Hotspur in June.

Kelleher made his first team debut for Jurgen Klopp’s side in a League Cup tie away to MK Dons in September and then played again in the same competition a month later against Arsenal at Anfield.

They are the only two appearances he has made for the Merseyside club but a loan move to Preston could be on the horizon for him now.
