Columbus Crew refusing to sell wide man to Oxford United

Columbus Crew are refusing to sell Chris Cadden to Oxford United.

The Major League Soccer side are looking forward to seeing him in action in their upcoming 2020 season, according to Columbus Dispatch journalist Jacob Myers.

Cadden was signed by Columbus Crew over the summer from Motherwell but was immediately loaned out to Oxford for the first half of this season.

He has made 16 appearances for Karl Robinson’s side so far this term and has played a key part in their impressive start to the campaign.

The U’s have made a bid to sign him on a permanent basis but it has been knocked back by the MLS side with them keen to finally see him link up with their squad.

Cadden, who is a Scotland international with two caps under his belt, started his career in his native country at Motherwell and went on to make 139 appearances for them before deciding to move on for a new chapter in his career in America.

Columbus finished 10th in the Eastern Conference in the past 2019 season and will be looking to push up the table next year.

The Crew, who are managed by Caleb Porter, have made some impressive signings such as Darlington Nagbe from Atlanta United and Axel Sjöberg from Colorado Rapids since the end of the season and with Cadden seemingly going nowhere, they could be a team to watch out for in the MLS.
